3D Printing – Is it a valuable tool in your arsenal?

OK, so a 3D printer may be considered a new toy or unnecessary luxury to some, but to others it’s an indispensable tool for fabbing up parts and prototypes. Do you use one as part of your hobby or profession? We noticed in our last workbench challenge that there were units sitting proudly on a few of your benches. Do you have one or access to one? Why or why not? What kind? How do you use it? Do you plan to upgrade as the technology improves?
