Readdressing Smart Pixels

Most of us take smart pixels like the WS2812 for granted, but it wasn't too many years ago when such a beast didn't exist. Today, smart LEDs are everywhere, and come in a variety of styles. Improvements have been made on the WS2812, and another offering called the SK6812 series is becoming more abundant. There is a variant of the SK6812 called the SK6812RGBW that includes a fourth (white) LED in the package. It just might be time to have a look at my pixel driver and bring it up-to-date with new choices.
